KELLY MANTLE BIO

A killer queen explodes onto the scene with a rare style of music satelliting his revolutionary themes. His name is Kelly Mantle. This beautiful androgynous rocker-boi not only knows how to own a stage, but he is also a brilliant & artful singer/songwriter.

Kelly recently teamed-up with producer Steven Phillips (Macy Gray, Kool Moe Dee, Dead Eye Dick), to record and co-produce his new album, "Satellite Baby" (Release Date: January 9, 2007). This is Kelly's third album to date, and it's a creative departure from his freshman and sophomore rock debuts. The new record cleverly merges Kelly's masterful songwriting skills and spellbinding lyrics with an eclectic mixture of sounds including electronic, dance, pop & rock.

Kelly Mantle's vocal style and stage performances are unique and uncompromising. He has drawn early comparisons to the many gender-bending pop icons that came before him such as Bowie, Boy George, Adam Ant, Andy Bell, and Pete Burns. However, Kelly's dynamic stage presence and authentic talents definitely warrant him a spotlight of his own.

"Satellite Baby" fuses current emopop sounds and dance hall machines with influences of the 80's dark electronic Brit-pop scene. Mantle explains, "I wanted to make a record that musically and vocally went all over the place. A record that would spray glittered tears all over your face!" And it does! It includes a few dance club anthems, a dark sexy Portishead-like tune, catchy pop-rock radio hits, and a few lovely lullabies to make you swoon. There's even a cover of the 80's hit "Obsession" (featuring Heather Reid of The Murmurs).

Kelly Mantle's live shows are as theatrical and spontaneous as his bisexual nature. He transforms from a genderless space alien into a hot rockerboi and a sultry transgendered stripper into a candied-goth-like chanting toy. In the end, he finally reveals himself, alone, playing an acoustic guitar and singing about a long-lost love affair he had with a rock superstar.

It's no surprise that Mikel Wadewitz from Frontiers Newsmagazine stated, "The multitalented Kelly Mantle is poised to become a household name just like his baseball legend uncle, Mickey Mantle." Since landing in Hollywood from his native Oklahoma, Kelly Mantle has not only spread his music and live shows to a steady and fast-growing following of fans, but he has also developed a successful career as an actor and model with numerous television guest star appearances, stage, feature film, and print jobs to his name.

Kelly Mantle fiercely fights for the underground underdog. Perhaps his lyrics represent this better than any bio could.

Read for yourself. Hear for yourself. See for yourself.

"I am who I am when I'm not who I'm supposed to be."

"Is he a she? Or is she a he? Why won't you let me keep my mystery?"

"I declare what I swear and what I wear from a stage.  I've been in movies.   I've been on TV. But life on the stage is where I feel most pretty."

"Beauties of the Universe unite! Be yourself and you will reach great heights.   I am your queen. You are my satellites."
